Thinking better with lying or standing ?

Thinking better with lying or standing ?

1- A recent study by the Australian National University tested peoples' problem solving abilities while standing up and lying down.

2- They found that people were slightly better at solving problems while in a horizontal position.

3- This difference in cognitive ability may come from the varied release of a neurotransmitter called noradrenaline, which is believed to interfere with creative thinking.

4- When you are lying down, your body releases less noradrenaline.

5- So, if you need to do some serious thinking, lying down may slightly boost your performance.

Dreams

1- An average person has over 1460 dreams in a year!

2- Our mind is not inventing faces – in our dreams we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.

3- Night is shorter than day 4 those who Dream. But the day is shorter than nit 4 those who make their Dreams com true.

Negative thinking

For many, negative thinking is a habit, which over time, becomes an addiction... A lot of people suffer from this disease because negative thinking is addictive to each of the Big Three -- the mind, the body, and the emotions. If one doesn't get you, the others are waiting in the wings.

Intelligence Quotient —I.Q.

1- The first IQ test was developed by a psychologist named Alfred Binet to help identify students who might need extra help in school.

2- This test was later refined by Stanford Professor Lewis Terman into the "Stanford-Binet" test, which is still used today to identify gifted students.
3- The first test to measure intelligence in adults was designed by Dr. David Wechsler and was called the "Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale" (WAIS).

4- He also created a test for children called the "Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children" (WISC).
5- The unique thing about these tests is that they report separate scores for verbal and performance IQ.

6- This gives the ability to judge intelligence independent of verbal ability.
7- These tests are still in use today. . . .

8- The average IQ is 100, while 140 is the beginning of genius IQ. ....... What is yours ?

Pyromania

Pyromania is a strong need to set things on fire. It is all about the kick it gives to see what other people have to do to extinguish the fire. The pyromaniac also enjoys reading about the effects of his activities. To be considered a pyromaniac, a person must set fire to something more than once..

Kleptomania is a strong desire to steal. Often a kleptomaniac person steals things he could have bought easily or things that are not at all expensive. The person steals just for the tension or the kick. Kleptomania can be the result of emotional shortcomings during the youth though little is understood about the
etiology.

In this test DO NOT READ the words, say aloud the COLOR of each word.

Both sides of your brain are trying to work this out for you.

Your right brain is trying to say the color and your left brain is trying to reading the word.

Freud's theory of Personality

According to Freud, we are born with our Id. The id is an important part of our personality because as newborns, it allows us to get our basic needs. Freud believed that the id is based on our pleasure principle. In other words, the id wants whatever feels good at the time, with no consideration for the reality of the situation. When a child is hungry, the id wants food, and therefore the child cries. The id doesn't care about reality, about the needs of anyone else, only its own satisfaction.
Id: The seat of our impulses
Ego: Negotiates with the id, pleases the superego

The superego is the bridge between the "id" and "ego". The role it plays in the personality is rationality and logic. It is the side of a person that desires to do the right thing no matter what. The super-ego's goal is to be without blemish. It manages our sense of right and wrong. According to Freud's theory, the super ego emulates a father figure who enforces rules and guidelines. It sets boundaries and limits on what a person will do. The super ego is what keeps the peace and order in life. It helps us control our animal instincts and behaviours by inflicting guilt and empathy upon our souls.
