Airplanes on Road !

★ Winston Churchill Avenue, the only road that connects Gibraltar to Spain, happens to intersect with the Gibraltar Airport runway.

★ Movable barricades close when an airplane lands or takes off and shuts down the road each time.

★ The government announced that another road would be built and tunneled under the runway for 350 meters to fix the problem. 

★ The new road, a dual carriageway, will connect the customs checkpoint with Devil’s Tower Road.
